The Mangosteen (garcinia mangostana) is a tropical fruit growing in south-east asia. It is sometimes referred to as the Queen of Fruits
Mangosteen is a potent source of antioxidants – substances which protect the body from the harmful effects of free radicals and oxidative damage. They are reported to reduce the effects of ageing and promote health.
With Catechins – commonly found in green teas. Catechins are polyphenol antioxidant bioflavonoids which display cardio-protective and chemoprotective effects.
With Proanthocyanidins – commonly found in grape seed and grape skin. Proanthocyanidins are polyphenol antioxidant bioflavonoids, and have been shown to support vascular health.
With Xanthones – one of the most powerful antioxidants ever discovered. Xanthones are highly effective free-radical scavengers. The rind, or pericarpof the Mangosteen is one of the richest sources of xanthones found in nature.
